Missions

Every Christian is called to participate in missions (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20)!  It is our goal to provide opportunities locally, in North America, and Internationally.

LOCALLY: IBC has a sister congregation called IBE, which is a Spanish-speaking church. We have had a partnership with them for over 15 years. Our church’s ministry groups (Iron Men, Women on Mission, Students) regularly serve our community through: service projects (ramps, repairs, painting, and etc.), Bible clubs, helping the local women’s center, provided food to needy families, and much more. We also help support Associated Charities, a local organization that supplies food and assistance to those in need. IBC is also committed to helping with Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief.

NORTH AMERICA: IBC joined in a partnership with the Kay Baptist Association (27 churches) in 2017 to help support churches in Omaha, Nebraska. We have organized and sent teams to do construction projects, Bible clubs, outreach, training, and block parties during the summer.  We will continue to prayerfully consider and engage new opportunities.

INTERNATIONALLY: IBC has sent members on mission trips around the world including: Wales, China, Belize, Mexico, Armenia, Puerto Rico, and Haiti. In 2019, we started a partnership on the small island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. This small island is still suffering from Hurricane Maria and only has one small Baptist church. We will be giving support to that local church and doing projects to help those still in dire need.

IBC is very engaged in the financial support of missions. We give around 10% of our undesignated receipts to support missions through the Southern Baptist Convention. We also take an additional “Send Hope” Missions Offering annually that goes directly to missionaries throughout the world. Click here to give to the Send Hope Missions Offering!

Additionally, we include budget support for missionaries connected to IBC, including the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) at NOC, Tonkawa.
